Women who voluntarily raised their voice pitch were rated as more attractive, while men lowering their pitch suffered a loss of attractiveness. https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1090513819301850 …pic.twitter.com/HoLDL3g3pb

It didn't for Elizabeth Holmes. A lot of women think aping men garners more respect and some think makes them more attractive but it has the opposite effect. Femininity, not masculinity, is what men want and respond to in women.

I was always under the impression that men lowering vocal pitch was a signal to other men. That's the way surgery is advertised anyway.

I'm not quite sure. I think the vocal/signaling literature is young.

I agree that sexual assault is a problem faced by women more so than men but it's not "most women". You could only come to that conclusion by expanding the definition of sexual assault to be so large that things like "unwanted kissing and touching" fall under it.

Well in that case most men experience these things too. Myself included, but I never considered it "sexual assault".

What part was amazing? The part about abuse having a psychological impact or the part about most men not being dangerous?

That's a good question. There are certainly cruel and evil people out there who do despicable things to both genders, most of these people are men. But most men are not these men. So all I'm saying is that the fear you have is irrational and rape, although awful, is rare.

Especially in the West where, contrary too popular belief, it is actively discouraged. No man rapes simply because it's his day off, these are cruel, sick, violent men. The lowest of the low. They do not represent most men and most men despise these men.
