I doubt this has much to do with the adoption of "green" policies specifically. Instead, it probably has to do with the male signalling that he's capable of following the moral zeitgeist.

This is a lazy correlational study. It's a common tactic in garbage science when lazy scientists understand that there is a causal relationship in one scenario ie. Higher paternal care with less testosterone- and apply it to more applicable things in a gimmicky fashion.
