In my reading, the abstract (and the original exp) do not show that *everybody* but that some people "are" conformists (more specific: behave that way in this specific setting)

The main point is: Despite extensive research, no personality traits that predict conformity were found in the literature. It seems that everybody just has a bit different triggers.

Those conformists act rationally. If ten people see one thing , and you see something different , what’s the chance that you’re right and they’re wrong ?

In general, that is true. Finding truth is a team sport. But here in Germany, under Hitler and subsequently in socialism, the ten were wrong.

Maybe instead of it being directly a conformity issue, it's an, "oh, that's how you do it correctly, lets do that" subconscious decision? Curious how that would test out. Thanks for the study!
