Replication studies of well-known psychological findings/theories would be very much problematic if you use psychology undergraduates as a sample. In the original study they are freshmen and it's ok in 2001 but now a different sample must be used.

If psychological findings replicate only with selective samples, they have absolutely no relevance for the real world. Psychologists typically insist there findings are relevant for the real world.
