Interesting. Does the paper talk about the possibility that in less egalitarian societies, and I assume more patriarchal ones, there is less freedom to explore different values from the head of household? So maybe less a story of evolution and more about power?

This is what I wonder. Perhaps the change to egalitarianism produces openly resentful men to a greater degree than generations of established patriarchy produces openly resentful women.

Maybe I'm missing something. It seems obvious to me that bigger sex differences in basic values=more likely to be gender egalitarian/feminist society. Women/girls have to break from traditional values and adopt a different political agenda to make society more gender egalitarian.

In societies where women/girls don't do this, society is likely to stay traditional/patriarchal
