No she doesn't. She references Jeanne Bovet's work, specifically https://www.frontiersin.org/articles/10.3389/fpsyg.2019.01221/full … and Jennions & Moller, specifically https://www.researchgate.net/publication/227315551_How_Much_Variance_Can_Be_Explained_by_Ecologists_and_Evolutionary_Biologists … and the much derided "The Evolution of Beauty" by Prum, which, well; Read Jerry Allen Coyne's words on it.https://whyevolutionistrue.wordpress.com/2018/11/25/a-critical-review-of-prums-the-evolution-of-beauty-in-evolution/ …

Bovet's work does not discard WHR, but rather seeks to examine whether it is a sole factor in reproductive success, and often finds that it is entangled with other similar cues as a redundant signal, or that there's another factor tied to it- that it isn't SOLELY responsible.

Some interesting examples, but the nature/nurture distinction and innateness aren't zombie ideas! It's conceptually possible—and scientifically useful—to distinguish the contributions of genes and environment. See https://philarchive.org/archive/COFIAG cc

@nathancofnas paper fails to meet any of the benchmarks of a coherent definition of innateness, let alone a demonstrating 'usefulness'. While studying development outside of this dichotomy has consistently lead to lasting practical and empirical advanceshttps://twitter.com/DialecticalA/status/1141099130296520704 … - 1 more reply

Something seemed off when reading these claims and Kain’s comment above indicates a high probability for an underlying, non-scientific, possibly ideological, motivation, behind Lisa’s convictions.

Barrett, a genius in her field, seems to deliberately glide past the details of these topics, as
@kainyusanagi detailed on WHR. She later claims it's courageous to say male and female are not immutable and nonoverlapping categories, but does anyone in the field make this claim? Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
