Given the importance of the original study, any replication, even if conceptual, is a good thing. Using plethysmography is no longer considered good, because it responds to, among others, fear, not a pure measure of sexual arousal.

Genetic causes aren't inconsistent with other explanations. Individuals may have a genetic predisposition to hold anti-gay attitudes, but that trait could manifest differently in different circumstances. 1/2

The term homophobia has the same problem as the term homophobe. It presupposes that the individual in question suffers from some kind of phobia. Hardly a neutral description...
