I'd agree with that - but most of the big brains in cosmology would agree that the Universe is exquisitely fine tuned. Balance of forces need to be "just right" or it rapudly implodes or expands to a nothingness.

This seems like a gross misinterpretation of the anthropic principle. The anthropic principle simply states that a universe that contains living beings must, by necessity, be structured in such a way as to afford life. It says nothing about other ways life could have developed.
