So they're self-rated by owners as being less aggressive to more familiar people? You don't say. (Also, obvious demand effect with these questions.)

Dogs could easily learn to react on owners feeling towards certain strangers. It doesn't have to be projection of bias. = Multiple explanations possible.

How did they confirm it's bias, and not just self-similarity in the social circle? If a dog lives in a village with no black people, it might be very hard for the dog to develop familiarity. It's not bias, it's simply lack of experience.

Skeptical. I'd look into biochemical triggers.

Geez, I had to double check this wasn't on the list of grievance studies. Isn't it more likely this is a case of non-familiarity? I had a dog who was dog aggressive only to brown or black dogs, because he'd never encountered them as a young pup.

Or maybe whites smell slightly differently. I mean, on average I can guess certain regional differences between nonwhite men on smell alone (speaking based on sex work experience in a majority-nonwhite country), dunno about whites tho (less experience with whites here lol) but

IMO way more plausible hypothesis than stuff that uses Implicit Fucking Bias stuff (and you don't even need differences in dermal biochemistry - cultural differences in grooming preferences and lifestyle could be enough for "different olfactory IFF on average")
