But aren't these two different phenomena/mechanisms? Variation in RS = selection, which reduces not increases variability in the relevant trait. GMV in traits is just a nonadaptive byproduct of Y-degradation isn't it?

Also, women show greater variability in sex drive, sexual oroentation and some other things. Some greater male variability, like in height and iq, can be due to more risk-taking during development.

The subject is still taboo -- you can easily lose your job over claiming biological sex differences (Damore, Summers) -- but being female is worth fewer diversity points than being a POC, so the taboo is weaker.
