I have no doubt bonobos are talented, but this is akin to a "god of the gaps" argument: we can't prove to a certainty bonobos don't have language, so it must be there.

If they can speak, they can think abstractly, which would make them capable of making inventions and developing them further. There is no technological development among apes. Apes have been doing the same stuff for millions of years.
