      1. The rich are more generous and prosocial than the poor. 2. There's no relation between social class and ethical behaviour. 3. There's no relation between social class and greed.https://twitter.com/DegenRolf/status/1053175632568442880 …

The contradictory findings are due to 1) p-hacking and b) the fact that prosocial behavior is extremely multifaceted, with different probes yielding different results, requiring multiple tests. Prima facie: Crime statistics, with more crimes committed by lower class individuals.

Maybe the anti-social rich have created the conditions leading to "lower class" crime? Anyway, that original study used a sig criterion of p<.05. Why is this still ok?

The original study had serious irregularities, which hint at statistical trickery http://blogs.discovermagazine.com/neuroskeptic/2012/05/23/rich-people-may-not-be-so-unethical/#.W87OfFUza00 …

By chance I ran across a reference this in an essay by Thomas Frank, and I was disappointed b/c I was sure it was bogus.
