Men and women with more asymmetrical body feature didn't show weaker immune function, dealing another blow to the crumbling "good genes" theory of mate choice. https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/ajpa.23617 …pic.twitter.com/0IUSbdTNIr

This is probably wishful PC thinking. Ugly people are usually rejected by potential mates, rejected people are less happy than others. Unhappy people are more likely to become sick in one way or another. This is not politically correct, but a fact that I learned already as a boy.

Symmetry also implies healthy embryonic development. Hormones, nutrition, pollutants, etc alter variability of immune function throughout life, & immunity does not even set in the 1st year. But healthier genes have to set the correct cellular foundations 4 a lifetime immediately.

I hope one day an individual could build a scientific collection of highly various off spring using DNA from all over the world. The Gene expression in mixed children is amazing.

A "good gene" idea is the predictive value of gene sequencing historical patterns. I wonder if political pressures to mate outside close groups can be tracked at other points in our history? Do we we see spikes in gene composition changes and do they correlate to special moments?
