Copying from a password manager and pasting into an application? What would be the issue?

Totally agree. I don't know who thinks they make stuff more secure by disabling pasting. I use a password manager for a reason, to have unique and unguessable passwords on each site I register on. Would rather have them require 2FA.

With my limited experience with it, 2FA has often caused me frustration. Someone asks me a question at a conference. "I have code for that". Go to Github, log in, locate password manager, find access code, copy code, paste (thankfully!), and several minutes later I'm in.

We disable paste when we perceive that whatever you copy can easily be copied from clipboard by malicious players, therefore, harming you. It's just for your protection. -
This is serious! But I think that is extremely unlikely to happen

If this is any kind of corporate website - it’s not the software developer , it’s required by the Information Security team. Usually the reason on the PC is that any item in the paste buffer is accessible by any program - i.e. mailware already on your computer.
-
Require by a IS team with a broken threat model. We have a good IS team and we allow paste.
