I believe this was more of a political strawman deal. Trump knew that Dems wouldn't go for the deal due to their thirst for controversy, thus presented a deal any outsider would view as fair for them to reject. Once it's obvious they refuse to deal, go 100% our stuff without them
.@tswehosky I agree it's likely that @realDonaldTrump was setting up the Dems to refuse near-perfect deal from their view so he can move w/ a conservative plan - the #GoodlatteBill I hope. BUT GOP in DC needs to hear from voters that #Amnesty for #DACA =non-starter for the base.
