Fear mongering, really? This "deal" was at Haight & Masonic 4.5 months ago when D5 neighbors were begging unresponsive @DeanPreston for help because we were being threatened by the dealers in HIS TENTS and his aides told us to be compassionate...7 ODs on our block. @chesaboudinpic.twitter.com/Nfr0RtULSh

Very shortly thereafter, Dean Preston helped get those corners cleared. And they are still completely clear to this day.

Not at all. He offered no help for 2 months. We witnessed drug deals, accumulation of trash, 7 ODs, and a crazed out of control car accident before
@SFPDPark stepped in to help. Dean didn't never bothered w/housed residents on the block locked in our homes due to health factors.4 replies 1 retweet 14 likes -

Dean did not ask or make the unhoused people move, and they didn’t want to. The police finally cleared the corner because someone tried to stab a police officer, on top of all the other assaults, overdoses, etc. I guess that was the last straw for the police.

Not at all what happened but you know that. As promised, we fought for a Safe Sleeping Village which was offered to unhoused folks on that corner and they moved into it. That was many months ago.

Dean. I’m not lying, unfortunately you are. We begged you to ensure that you would make it mandatory to clear that corner and you REFUSED each time. It was not you. It was the police, and we got “lucky,” that they felt threatened enough to clear the corner. Unlike Clayton...

Masonic neighbors called police for weeks & that did nothing, then they reached out to to us & we suggested advocating for Safe Sleeping Village so unhoused had somewhere to go. We did the work & folks moved into SSV thanks primarily to hard work of

Taking credit where credit isn't due is very unbecoming. Vallie met with reps from dif agencies & our block to address probs at Masonic & Haight (drugs in the newspaper stand, etc.). Crime was exacerbated ten-fold by you/your tent distribution. Drug deals/bad habits proliferated.

It was Mayor Brown and Vallie who obtained a compassionate port-a-potty/wash station for your out of control tents while you made us neighbors feel vulnerable from both sides. Shame on you for attempting to take credit.

Absolutely false. @ohjennyboy and @sfpublicworks got the portapotty and handwashing station. I don’t care if you give me credit for anything (clear you won’t) but don’t invisibilize the hard work of my staff and frontline city workers. Thanks.
