Dean, isn’t the productivity growth largely associated with institutions and corporations and less to do with the benefits of labor accruing to workers? The direct beneficiaries of institutional wealth are a small percentage of the population.

Success is measured by Wall Street in terms of scale. How much of a revenue multiple can you get out of every dollar of expenditure. Labor is a cost center here. Labor intensive industries are therefore devalued and wages further depressed.

How is wage rate measured in conjunction with market increase? Wages for Amazon have never adjusted, aligned with its market value when they were trading around $50 and now over $1000. At one point do they say in retrospect we could have raised wages here?

People cant grasp this concept because we cant remove them from the idea that minimum wage means poor. Minimum wage is supposed to protect the middle class, not be a whole(lower)class on it's own.
