Here's a slightly dated piece, but if the minimum wage had kept pace with productivity growth it would be close to $22 an hour today http://cepr.net/blogs/cepr-blog/an-18-42-minimum-wage …

The GOP eclipsed the Dems for half a century on the back of white middle class "economic anxiety" as a result of Dem civil rights legislation in the 60s. The ironic twist? It’s all bad. Take states whining about tort reform. States like Cal have 1970s caps on pain and suffering, meaning nothing in today’s dollars. You’re old, retired, you’re literally worth NOTHING. They aren’t going broke from “frivolous lawsuits”.
-
Big med wants no liability, but their costs are an outrage. I can see “tort reform” with universal healthcare, but not with this rigged billionaire health biz. (Just my opinion.)

We need civil servants, including the POTUS, who actually care about the people who work hard to generate the taxes that make everything in this country possible. The current
@GOP are on the take & obviously care nothing for the average citizen. Taxation without representation.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
