I tried to cancel an LA fitness membership in 2020. I am still a member 3 years later because they took me through hoops to cancel. It's interesting how gyms and Pilate studios make it easy to sign up online or in an app but impossible to cancel. This should be illegal

Here's how nationwide strikes with "Robin Hood" tactics are rocking the country and what's expected next.

Socialism is a very vague term used for a lot of different groups. Do they realize that trade unions would never had existed without socialism? Any democrat voting for this should be ashamed.

Most discussions of the ballot line take a bird’s eye view of the issue. But from our yrs of electoral organizing can speak to very real, specific problems candidates face. The 3 big problems are Bracketing, Down Ballot Coattails n the Off Brand Cereal Problem/🧵

Socialism is a scare word they've hurled at every advance the people have made. Socialism is what they called public power, social security, deposit insurance, and independent labor organizations. Socialism is their name for anything that helps all people.

NJ voters deserve the basic right to choose their representation — and this right has long been denied to them. It’s past due that we do away with the inherently undemocratic system of insider games & party bosses picking election winners.

Just saw the video of the lynching.
Those police beat Tyre Nichols to death. The change required to build an equitable system will require more than training and body cameras. They bludgeoned him to death while the cameras were on. He should be alive.

It is really galling the pushback against helping residents pay utilities bill. This is a #WaterisaHumanRight fight. I'm grateful for Sen Cruz-Perez's work on this issue.

But today, like all days only more so for some reason, seems like a great day to expand democracy.
Let’s bring same-day voter registration to NJ.

If we do not solve these problems, the opportunity for fascists to project such despair and inflate primitive attitudes towards race, gender, sexuality, and religion persists. Until we meet the most basic needs of the people, we are susceptible to another January 6.

This is what happened in Europe during the Great Depression. To prevent a similar uprising, America responded with bold economic policies like the New Deal, which offered solutions to real problems and invested in its people. We've since entered a new era of economic despair:

Historically, fascism rose in times of economic despair. Governments which failed to rectify those crises perpetuated such a rise: "[Facism] spoke to the social...needs to be protected from the ravages of capitalism at a time when other [politicians offered] little help" Berman

🧵January 6 can only be described as an attack on democracy. While the immediate blame belongs to Trump & those who violated the Capitol, any serious attempt to protect democracy requires us to be critical of the economic environment which allows authoritarianism to flourish.

The media is referring to this as vandalism.
Spray painting graffiti on a sidewalk is vandalism. Causing massive outages for thousands of people is domestic terrorism.

Meanwhile, she received ~$1 million in donations from Wall Street.
Don’t be fooled: Sinema isn't “independent.” She's beholden to her donors.

Been there. This is one of many ways Congress structures itself to exclude and push out the few working class people who *do* get elected.
These systems are built for people who can lean on wealth. It’s shocking how detached from reality a lot of the details are - but I got you! twitter.com/MaxwellFrostFL…

My property taxes have gone up 8%, & health insurance will go up 20%, all in 1 year without any raise in sight.
I’ve paid a ton of taxes, & basic things are costing more.
