We’re already hearing a lot of noise when it comes to raising the debt limit. But not everyone is negotiating in good faith. Dems are pushing to protect the full faith and credit of the U.S. Republicans are already talking about what hostages to take and what programs to cut.

Tomorrow, we kick off Black History Month — a celebration of the vast contributions that Black Americans have made throughout our history.  My hope is that this time reminds us of our shared fight for racial justice and we keep that objective with us all year long.

I’m stepping up as the Democratic leader of the House Energy and Commerce’s subcommittee on Energy, Climate, and Grid Security. This position will give me even more opportunities to help reduce America’s emissions and take on the climate crisis.

For years, I’ve pushed to provide more resources for those experiencing homelessness. And I won't stop. Every American should have a roof over their head and a safe place to sleep at night.

On what would have been the 50th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, I’m recommitting myself to the fight for reproductive rights.  Everyone should have the freedom to make their own health care decisions — and that must include abortion care.

There is no legitimate reason for anyone to own a weapon of war. I’m pushing for a ban on assault weapons to ensure that machines designed exclusively to cause harm aren’t available on our streets.

If you fight to restrict the American people’s right to vote, you’re on the wrong side of history.  I will never stop fighting to defend our democracy.

The 118th Congress started off in chaos with 15 ballots to elect a speaker. It was a sad spectacle and frankly embarrassing. Democrats have to win back the House in 2024 to restore order and ensure the Congress is once again productively working for the American people.

While Republicans were paying lip service to transparency, their leader was striking deals behind closed doors and in the middle of the night to cut Medicare and Social Security so he could be elected Speaker.

The American people need to know what Republicans are up to: They’re trying to advance a rules package that would restrict access to abortion and crack down on our reproductive rights.

Gun violence has plagued our communities for far too long. I’m fighting to crack down on gun violence, end mass shootings, and save lives.

2022 was quite the year. Lots of ups and a few downs. We’ve made progress, but there’s more work to do.  Here’s to giving it our all in 2023! Cheers! 🥂

When our democracy was on the line, the American people showed up. They rejected election denial and politicians that would restrict the right to vote.  And we need to replicate these results moving forward. This is the hard work that makes our nation stronger.

The holidays can be hard for so many. If this message finds you with a heavy heart, know that I’m thinking of you and wishing you the best this holiday season!

No one should be denied the care they need based on their zip code. Glad to see this measure defeated.

A lot of folks didn't think the 2022 midterms were going to be good for Democrats. But then I saw the American people get involved. They volunteered and donated and turned the tide. And that’s what democracy is all about.

Environmental justice means leaving no one behind and moving forward together. It’s means that when we tackle the climate crisis and clean up pollution, all of our communities grow stronger.

Today, the House passed the Respect for Marriage Act — the last hurdle before it can be signed into law. This is a huge win that enshrines marriage equality into law PERMANENTLY. 🏳️‍🌈

As long as our reproductive rights are under attack, Colorado must remain a safe haven for those in need of care. Abortion care is health care — and we must treat it as such.

The history of mass shootings in America runs right through Colorado. It’s impacted so many communities in our state and taken away so many loved ones. That’s why I’ll never give up the fight to end gun violence.

Pro-choice voters showed up in record number to defend their rights and expand abortion access. And we can build on this momentum. Restoring Roe won't happen tomorrow, but Election Day 2022 was Step 1 in our fight. The work continues.
