It is also important to remember, President Obama continued force feeding detainees on hunger strikes. Nor should we lose sight of the fact that DeSantis volunteered to join the Navy out of Harvard Law School, as opposed to getting a high-paying job at a private law firm.

One interesting aspect of the two interviews: In 2018, he referred to it as force feeding and today he simply refers to it as feeding - leaving out the word force. But let's be absolutely clear, as a junior officer fresh out of law school, he was not deciding policy at Gitmo.

A CBS Miami investigation found that because of budget cuts and staff reductions, there appears to be a systemic failure in addressing repairs in Miami Dade's nearly 400 public schools.

the traumatic brain injury stemmed from an ATV accident/crash around 20 years ago. After the accident, the friend says, Travis was never the same.

She argued the county failed to protect her son. The case was settled last year for an undisclosed amount. Travis Grafe now finds himself once again in the county jail.

All criminal charges from 2013 were then dropped. In 2016, Rachel Knaus Grafe sued Miami Dade County, claiming her son, while he was in the county jail on March 14, 2014, “was attacked by another inmate who bit Mr. Grafe’s lip off and further bit Mr. Grafe’s face.”

In 2015, Rachel Knaus Grafe sought guardianship of her then 33-year-old son, claiming he was “totally incapacitated” and “suffered and continues to suffer from traumatic brain injury.” A judge found Travis incapacitated and placing him in the care of his mother.
