It is also important to remember, President Obama continued force feeding detainees on hunger strikes. Nor should we lose sight of the fact that DeSantis volunteered to join the Navy out of Harvard Law School, as opposed to getting a high-paying job at a private law firm.

One interesting aspect of the two interviews: In 2018, he referred to it as force feeding and today he simply refers to it as feeding - leaving out the word force. But let's be absolutely clear, as a junior officer fresh out of law school, he was not deciding policy at Gitmo.

All criminal charges from 2013 were then dropped. In 2016, Rachel Knaus Grafe sued Miami Dade County, claiming her son, while he was in the county jail on March 14, 2014, “was attacked by another inmate who bit Mr. Grafe’s lip off and further bit Mr. Grafe’s face.”

Travis Grafe, 40, has been charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault and strongarm robbery. Rachel, 66, is in critical condition. She was airlifted to JMH. Herbert Grafe's injuries were less severe, and he is expected to make a full recovery. Story to follow
