If the schools were fully meeting children's needs, enrollment wouldn't change at all. But then again, if that were the case it also wouldn't have already dropped 3% this last year.

My local elementary school my number was 7% based on the enrollment data they shared. My son had 4 other kids from his elementary school of 500 students in his CLASS.

District taxpayers aren’t giving each child education dollars. They are paying for the district’s school and accompanying infrastructure. ERG ratings for towns public schools determine property values etc. Why are libertarians so disconnected from reality?

There was a pandemic during the 2020-21 school year, which affected a LOT of families’ school choices. I’m starting to think this is a popular idea in states that don’t have good school systems. Maybe those states should raise their school funding instead of your idea.

With ideal competition, there would be a 10x improvement in cost quality and access and the majority of patients would have a plethora of options :-)
