I seem to remember DC having plenty of national guard presence during peaceful BLM protests but I guess a literal attack on the Capitol is lower on the list of priorities than silencing Black people who don't want to be murdered

As someone who studied International Security Studies, I never thought I would see this in the US. This is an awful day for democracy, and this puts so many emerging democracies in peril, bc the US has lost its moral/soft authority.

The thing is, D.C doesn’t have its own national guard, and it doesn’t have a governor to call in the national guard. The president would have to borrow the national guard of another state and call it in, and I don’t think he wants that. He’s enjoying this chaos.

Not quite. The District of Columbia does have its own National Guard. I would not call BLM protests PEACEFUL! They were anything but peaceful.

They were indeed peaceful according to the fbi 93% of all of their protests were peaceful funny how someone always tries to mention violence when it comes to people of color but when its white people its just them venting gtfohwtbs
