Twitter, help me: is the anger at the systematic attempt to rehabilitate the unrepentant Johann Hari predominantly felt amongst journalists, or do people outside the industry feel it too?

I didn't even realise he was making a comeback. What did I miss?

You're right. Being seen to scrupulously atone for past misdeeds should be the only way back from something big. But as for people on Twitter outside media land caring? Meh.

I was asked if I wanted to get an advance copy of his book and review/plug it because it's all about my field. Haaaaaaaaaard no.

"it's about what really causes depression and anxiety. You may not agree with his conclusions but Hari is a compelling voice" While I'd love to endorse being lectured to on an incredibly complex & sensitive issue from my own field by an unrepentant plagiarist, I had to decline

Apology is so 2010, Dawn. He's evidently taking the lead from the government.

I think he has - now - admitted his wrongdoings. If anything, fellow journalists seem to be enabling his rehabilitation right now.
