Self driving cars are a pretty good example of late stage capitalism's absurd allocation of resources. Nobody except haulage, mass transit, or taxi companies really want em and they're gonna make loads of folk unemployed but we're investing absurd cash and thought into it

I'm not super invested in it and was trolling tbh, but now I think of it, it does limit holiday options/reporting roles, compared to friends who go on road trips, hire cars to follow stories

I would argue at the same time that this sort of thing is exactly what Marx wanted: the advancement of technology to free workers from labour.
