I remember asking a civil servant in May 2016 what planning they'd done on the Irish border in the event of a Brexit vote, him laughing in my face and saying "NONE, because it ISN'T GOING TO HAPPEN" 🤔🤔🤔🤔

I remember having to tell my boss at the courts that the Republic of Ireland was a different country and that’s why we couldn’t enforce a court order against someone in Dublin

And this is what is driving me crazy! Why do so many Brits have problems with the fact of Ireland as a sovereign nation?

Can anyone explain the term 'frictionless border'? I keep hearing it but have no idea what it means. Surely there's a border or there isn't?

Whereas I strongly believe that scornfully laughing in someone’s face when being asked a reasonable question is a Despicable thing to do, I’m hoping he may be right and open borders will remain on a currently peaceful and much loved island👍

I remember asking the same of an Irish Minister, to which they replied, “we have 6 contingency workstreams, with working groups supporting each of them...A priority would be to ensure that Britain isn’t victimised in the event of a leave vote”

Seems very strange that the DUP is rejecting special status for NI within the EU customs union and UKGB. It's a deal many other of the UK would accept a heartbeat.

In fairness, ALL civil servants were told not to plan for Brexit before the vote. (and what we have now is a political problem, not so much a civil servant problem)
