Even when my daughter has been at her most spiteful/selfish/ungrateful/stubborn/deceitful, the last thing I would ever want to do is physically hurt her. It's never entered my head.

I don't have kids, but can't imagine wanting to physically hurt anyone except in self defence, it horrifies me.
