It isn't size or status. It's the power over the tenant, the constant knowledge that 'your' home isn't yours, you could lose it at any time.

Mortgage is similar though, interest rates can rocket, values fall and you have less freedom to get out from under it

In that system greater freedom to move at will pushes me towards rent, not as important as other issues but unsellable houses trap people
