Never listened to/been offered music in MRIs, but if I ever call the appointment letters bluff and bring in a CD, it would be Charlotte Gainsbourg’s IRM, an actual album about MRIs.https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=D-ihfLPD6S8 …

The first time I had one, they played an audiobook of an Inspector Morse novel (no, me neither) and I caught maybe 2% of the plot in the silences.
-
I’ve never had music/audiobooks played or offered. The appointment letters always say you can bring in a CD but I don’t own any!

Speaking as an avid previous raver, now old person with a slipped disc: No. It is still horrible.
-
Interesting - you’re the first person I know who likes EDM and hates MRIs.

Have you ever pressed the panic button? I did and I practically got shot out. Had to go back with my mum to hold my hand
-
No! Never panicked or found them psychologically hard-going, and imagine it’s rough for people who do with Covid restrictions atm. My only problem’s pain, because moving helps lessen the nerve pain and obviously I can’t.

The noise is made by the 'gradient coils'. Basically it's a massive loudspeaker! I once heard 'smoke on the water' played on the gradient coils... without the sound insulation! Awesome.

Googled Ntz Ntz Ntz thinking it was a 70s krautrock band
-
Incredibly offended you thought I liked 70s krautrock rather than that I pretend MRIs are tiny Berghain.
