All unsolicited health advice is annoying, but anaemia in particular is wild, with people who’ve never had a blood test declaring themselves “a bit anaemic” and merrily telling you to stop taking prescription iron for Holland & Barratt crap & that your diet is the cause/solution

My mum had the same. Was there any actual science behind this or did the doctors just believe the adverts?

Urban myth, I think. There’s less than 3% of your RDA iron in a pint so you’d need about 35 pints a day, and there’s no way you’d drink that without puking and having to drink more to replace the vomit.
