it's been on forever. immense number of very famous people went through it. some truly classic sketches - some timely, some more timeless. it's best when it gets a bit weird, worst when it covers current events, caricature not satire. rarely funny anymore
Like our Have I Got News For You
You know what its like? Its like when we get news on these royals (the queen, those two people that got married, etc) that literally no one in america cares about, and we also get told what was on SNL and we are supposed to care about that too. Only editors of papers/websites do.
In over 40 years, not one single time has anyone ever brought up the british royal family in any conversation ever with me or anyone I know, but there it is, in the top 10 headlines of every last media site, just like the SNL recap telling us all the sick burns
We watch it every week and love it
normally only for @ColinJost and Michael Che’s weekend update
