No, obviously and as the content of the briefings yesterday showed, that’s because he was focused on his own feelings and paranoia, all talk of “leaks” and “briefings against staff”https://twitter.com/georgeeaton/status/1391352725745672197 …

His problem is he doesn’t have a base, or wing of the party he developed in: he contacted one of his campaign organisers the night he was elected in 2015 as soon as exit polls hit, wanting to run for leader with zero parliamentary experience. You don’t get loyalty with threats.

Nothing to talk up in Scotland.3 MSPs and rest on list.

I know, but Labour’s line has been to try to talk up Anas Sarwar’s leadership so they were concentrating on not losing as much as expected, same as in London. Could have talked about Glasgow and Holyrood diversity, chose to focus on Westminster navel-gazing.

Indeed - he needs to visit these areas to ascertain what Labour is doing right and then go back to places like Hartlepool to ascertain what Labour is doing wrong. Re West England, Dan Norris is well known and likeable plus the previous Tory mayor didn’t seem to achieve much..
