Lambeth asking everyone over 11 to get a PCR test asap, with few testing sites, very limited open hours only in the working day, only four dispensing home PCR tests and big chunks of the borough far from the sites mean very few will actually manage it.https://beta.lambeth.gov.uk/enhanced-coronavirus-covid-19-testing-lambeth/how-get-test …

Having four sites where you can pick up home PCR tests all strategically missing a big chunk of the borough is self-defeating. And previously Lambeth have texted info, nothing, learnt it all via social media, no alert in/change to the NHS Covid app for the area.

A solution! You can book through the government website and choose the option that states your local council have asked you to get tested. But be quick: my local centre had 101 tests for Wednesday then after filling in my name, DOB & NHS no 25 disappearedhttps://www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test …

Just thinking about that though - all the LFTs have to be followed up with a PCR now if they're positive, which could be sequenced, so surely it doesn't matter which kind you take if you get a negative?

Lateral flow tests also less reliable with false results/patient error, but the bigger thing is time, an unnecessary delay when they want to find and quarantine positives as fast as possible, so asymptomatic people who think they’re the same spread it while they wait for delivery

Even 119 don’t know the difference between LFT and PCR tests, how on earth are ordinary members of public gonna know. Screenshot from 119 workplace help on teamspic.twitter.com/2HfOZ3u3ue
