On the mobile number thing, to try and break the cycle, I think all you can really do is this: people either do it without thinking, or understandably point out that it’s likely the family members may feel the police haven’t felt helpful. I dony use Facebook anymore but when I did I'd Google the names they were all old cases where the person had been found ages ago. Just helpful people kept sharing it and it went on and on.
