Blunkett’s comments here are absurd & dangerous. Absolutely nothing teachers unions and pupils have said here is wrong: there was a grim sexist culture when I was in school and he was in power and I doubt that’s suddenly changed with no interventionhttps://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2021/04/05/schoolboys-risk-unfair-judgment-rape-culture-row/ …

Lots of stuff about the demonisation of boys (because of their behaviour), absolutely nothing on how their behaviour affects the girls they're harassing.

And no one has suggested assuming the guilt of individual boys accused of assault or harassment, Blunkett just refuses to accept there is a culture of sexism whatsoever and claims accepting there is a problem at all is “identity politics”, ludicrously sensationalist dogwhistling.

There still seems to be a widespread misconception that girls are "unfairly accusing" boys when the evidence is to the contrary. And of course no one is assumed to be guilty - that's not how it works. I'm so tired of the constant centring of boys' reputation over girls' safety.

Yes, absolutely. The campaign’s more about letting girls know the behaviour they put up with isn’t ok, so grim they’re instantly told by a former home secretary that the campaign is dangerous
