Always eye-roll when people bitch about hospital food because cooking that much food on a tiny budget is mad impressive, given the menu choice & diabetic/gluten free/veggie/vegan options, but someone complaining they don’t cater for “macrobiotic diets” has fully got my back up.
And PALS should be involved if that’s happening. But loads of staff are doing amazing work with tiny budgets:https://www.southwarknews.co.uk/news/chef-at-st-thomas-hospital-celebrates-50-years-of-work-and-has-no-plans-to-stop/ …

PALS was involved, fat lot of good they were. I lost 5kg in those two weeks. The point is, feeding patients who have atypical diets is becoming a major issue, I blame the cuts, not the staff.

As my first post said, and I repeated, the problem is funding. I’m sorry your hospital didn’t have porridge, fruit, veg, rice etc, but slating hospital food across the board is an insult to hard-pressed staff.
