Always eye-roll when people bitch about hospital food because cooking that much food on a tiny budget is mad impressive, given the menu choice & diabetic/gluten free/veggie/vegan options, but someone complaining they don’t cater for “macrobiotic diets” has fully got my back up.
Not in the three hospitals I was in last year. As I said, the budgets have been slashed to a pittance, but expecting a macrobiotic menu is ludicrous.

I agree the macrobiotic diet is ludicrous, my only point is, the cuts have completely undermined hospitals safely feeding patients who have medical diets or who may be unable to feed themselves due to say dementia.

And PALS should be involved if that’s happening. But loads of staff are doing amazing work with tiny budgets:https://www.southwarknews.co.uk/news/chef-at-st-thomas-hospital-celebrates-50-years-of-work-and-has-no-plans-to-stop/ …
