I thought a lot of progress had been made regarding television for this very reason, why is it games are so behind?

This one was apparently rushed, and the staff treated terribly, but think a lot of it is a desire to be seen as edgy, so a serious risk to a lot of players is seen as worth it for sales.

No game developer is trying to kill people, and the only way it mirrors neurologists' equipment is having red and white flashing lights, that's it. It's an oversight, an egregious one no doubt, but it's not malicious. Acting as if it's a deliberate choice is irresponsible.
