I'm reading Christopher Hill's book on Cromwell which would probably be more fun if I didn't have to keep looking up basic facts about the English Revolution and it strikes me as really odd that we never covered it in school?

I really don't remember doing anything in between the Tudors and the first world war?

We definitely did “The Industrial Revolution”, The Chartists, “The Victorians”, and women’s suffrage, in between, but went back to Cromwell and co repeatedly between about 7-16. Wild, but unsurprising, that English syllabi would include wars but not that.
