This is spot on from @OwenJones84 on why we’ve ended up in this mess > Hard remainers wouldn't accept a soft Brexit. Now we're all paying the pricehttps://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2020/dec/07/remainers-britain-soft-brexit …

Very selective take. He also makes the point that nature abhors a vacuum. If Labour had backed EEA/EFTA or even PV more then 2 months before the GE things might have been different. Water under the bridge

The 'will of the people' was 52% v 48%. Remainers shouldn't have had to fight for a Brexit that at least attempted to reflect the ACTUAL result. Had the Government not acted as if it was 100%-0% & Leavers not basked in triumphalism, opposition would have been greatly reduced.

The PV wanted a vote on the deal. Smthg Rees Migg had earlier proposed. This mess belongs ENTIRELY to leavers including lexiters. Vital part of democracy is opposition. Plus hard Brexit always aim of ERG. ALWAYS. And you’re all shitting yourselves + looking to blame others.

There is NOTHING “extreme” about wanting to maintain the status quo
