If anyone has helpful tips for getting stubborn dried blood out of hair without scrubbing/infection risk, hit me up. Pre-conditioning did nowt. Trying overnight E45. It’s rocksolid, I lost a lot of blood, was close to transfusion territory. It’s a v big crown-neck wound.

My friend had a brain op which was held together with staples, she went to the local hairdresser who very gently washed her hair for her. Do you have a hairdresser you trust?

Mine moved to Hull! Missed yesterday’s hair appointment because I kept passing out in my dinner, which the nurse thought was an affectation and me being funny, but the epilepsy team recognised as a serious symptom.

Try using something like aqueous cream or E45, or even conditioner only, instead of shampoo, at least for a few days, as it will be less stringent and painful. Or even don't wash hair for a few days to let things "knit". Sorry I've been there and it's nasty.

Ooh, thank you - will try E45: put conditioner in an hour before with no luck, alas. It seems rock solid and has made me ginger.

Cheap conditioner with lots of slip and absolutely masses of it. Keep mixing the conditioner with water and keep adding more conditioner for maximum slip.
