And the rules are really confusing, so lone examples of misunderstandings are going viral, and tweets like this are being interpreted as blanket rules, when it's likely someone's assumed that's what all stores are doing and tweeted it.

As far as I can tell they started off doing it in response to complaints from small shop trade associations about the first lockdown, then realised oh yeah Amazon, then rebadged it as a way of getting people to spend less time in shops. Not the Welsh govt's finest hour tbqh.

Yeah, I've seen loads of English people going ballistic at retailers, when it's the Welsh government they should be aiming their ire at. Am I right in assuming the small business lobby has much more influence in Wales too?
