Absolutely abhorrent women are still not allowed partners in the room during childbirth. Even if it slightly increases risk for staff, the psychological fallout is huge. I found it rough just being alone for 5 days at a time with epilepsy complications 4 times, & I’m used to them

I’m scheduled for an induction next week. Can’t have partner there for the bit that sounds the most scary. But they’re Covid testing him the day before (at the part that sounds way less dramatic, which he is allowed at). So why not?

He was allowed at a recent scan but then not the consultant appointment to discuss the scan, same building, 20 minutes later. It just feels so maddeningly inconsistent.

The inconsistency is maddening, and differences trust to trust mean it takes research to find out whether your partner can come at all. Hope the induction goes well and @paulfi's not shut out for too much.
