Absolutely abhorrent women are still not allowed partners in the room during childbirth. Even if it slightly increases risk for staff, the psychological fallout is huge. I found it rough just being alone for 5 days at a time with epilepsy complications 4 times, & I’m used to them

It doesn’t make a lot of sense either to me. You’d think that if the partner has Covid-19, there’s a good chance that the mother already has it anyway (and so would infect the staff)? Although, I’m happy to be corrected if I’m missing something.

Exactly! And staff have masks & visors. One of my consultants just came to say hello when I was in, not medically necessary, was just curious about symptoms. So unnecessary visits are happening.
