Sky claim to have done extensive research, that didn’t include looking at his face, but very basic research throws up the fact that his father was on the electoral roll at a Bristol address from 2002-11 despite allegedly dying in 1988. https://twitter.com/HISTORYUK/status/1318544901815078913 …

@HISTORYUK haven’t responded to this at al since, despite bombarding me & others with Tweets before. So@HISTORYUK what proof can you show me his dad, Trevor A Lumsden (m. Gail Walters 1978, Darren born 28/05/79) “died in 1988” since he was registered to vote in Bristol 2002-11?11 replies 41 retweets 430 likesShow this thread -
The Poisonous Euros Atmosphere Fan Retweeted Sky HISTORY
They’ve now deleted every single tweet, publicly and to people like me, claiming they had fully investigated Lumsden’s history and tattoos and found no racism, and that the ‘88’ tattoo commemorated the year his dad died. So was the ‘research’ inadequate, or nonexistent?https://twitter.com/HISTORYUK/status/1318602183428968448 …

Sky HISTORYVerified account @HISTORYUKWhile we investigate the nature & meaning of Darren’s tattoos we have removed the video featuring him from our social media, & will not be broadcasting any eps of The Chop until we have concluded that investigation. Sky HISTORY stands against racism & hate speech of all kinds.3 replies 37 retweets 225 likesShow this thread -

That's the real tragedy of all this - Sky's incompetence wasting all the time and talent of those who had nothing to do with it.

You’d *hope* that some good comes of this in that in future, proper researchers are hired and paid accordingly, and a system is put in place so any staffers can raise concerns to be investigated without fear of professional reprisals. @NicholasGuyatt was very wise to swerve this.

Awesome work today, Dawn. From the invite I received to be a 'guest judge' I'd assumed the budget was 5% staff costs, 5% wood and 90% on Lee Mack; though TBH I hadn't foreseen that the outcome would be "Joinery of the Third Reich"
