When I was a first year student I had very little money & my parents were 300 miles away. I worry for those stuck in a flat with strangers whose parents can’t drop off food & who can’t afford £40 minimum delivery charge.

I agree that it is, but there’s something emblematic of the issues we have on the left about seeking to create any sort of divide here. There’s a broad, unifying issue and atomising it seems counterproductive to me.

@UCU and@DrJoGrady have been really good on this - it puts the lowest paid at the highest risk, and at most unis isn’t an unbreached solitary confinement, so what is the point?
