I’ve written this before, but the Labour right’s obsession with exclusively targeting Tory voters who might switch rather than building a programme that convinces non-voters to register and vote just alienates and loses people on the left.

Exactly. The centre ground exists as a point between the left and right wing parties so when one of them shifts, the whole spectrum moves with them. It's not as if they haven't tried this post crash already.

Exactly this, its just what happened over the last 30+ years. Labour chase the Tories right, the Tories move further right and declare it the centre.

Unfortunately it’s a necessary evil to get Labour back where it needs to be. What Labour may or may not become is another debate altogether.

Yup. It was the same 'strategy' that the democrats used in 2016, how'd that turn out...

Because there are many reasons why people don’t vote, not all of which are down to policy: 1) voting is on a weekday, so for many people it is just too hard 2) the system, why bother voting in a super safe seat? A different policy offering doesn’t change 1) or 2)

We've been down this road before. Like Dennis Skinner said the way is clear, straight down the left! No choice leads to voter apathy. What do they think will happen, really? And do they care?

I will not vote Labour until the traitors are kicked out. The notion of helping ‘let the tories in’ again is hypocrisy from those who helped in the present lot. Lab need to earn my vote back and they have a very long way indeed to go in this.

And where are the noises about Grenfell and the lost computer files? Where are the friggin policies, fgs?
