My parents were (and still are) members of their local Presbytery (as in Church of Scotland district council). One of the ministers (to widespread disapproval from colleagues) was chaplain to his local Orange Lodge. That was the point he resigned from the Lodge.

Yeah, I mean it didn’t change anything about his very conservative theology, but he couldn’t thole children being treated like that, which made me think better of him.
