Closing pubs an hour early seems a nailed on way to make sure people then carry on drinking at their friends’ homes. Does COVID19 only activate after 10pm or something.

When I was in North Carolina they said the bars have to stop serving alcohol at some specific time (can't remember what it was) but can stay open much later...why would this help with covid?

Their ~argument~ is people are more likely to break social distancing rules when drunk, but that one hour won’t make a difference and they won’t adopt measures that could save lives because they might hurt cost the treasury money
