My neighbour’s child is in a school with staggered start times, and she says she loves it because she gets to have a coffee with him in a cafe before school, then pick him up later than normal.

Learning this has made me understand why rush hour suddenly seems three times as long twice a day. Is everywhere doing the same?

Yeah basically the same with us. At the moment I'm dropping one kid off at secondary at 8, then me and the other kid are at his primary school at 0815 but he can't go in until 0840 so we go to a cafe and have a lovely chat* *sit in car looking at phones
